Taking off

Since our initial brainstorm, an interface featuring placeholder text has been created with several key features: an area where narrative (including dialogue) will appear, a character portrait, a navigable space craft, and an openable terminal. The placeholder dialogue in this prototype can be hovered over and selected, and the mechanics of a branching narrative are functional. Everything looks and feels crisp and user-friendly (and super pretty), which is exactly what we were aiming for.

In the background, character profiles have been started, with key information being recorded as we prepare to craft character dossiers. In addition, some scenes have been written as explorations of these characters and how they interact. The opening sequence for the game now exists (at least in a word processing document) so we are making positive progress in terms of story.

There are key features that still need to be added to the interface and lots of narrative that still needs to be written, so we must continue pushing forward, but Constellations is definitely taking off.
